Jonathan Debenham - Operations Manager

Over 12 years experience working within the Leisure Industry. I worked for: Kirklees Council (Leisure Services) from 1997 then moved over to Kirklees Active Leisure in 2002.

I have worked at most KAL sites, becoming duty manager at Dewsbury, then later Operations Manager of Batley Baths. In 2008 I was also appointed Operations Manager of Whitcliffe Mount Sports Centre.

History

• Originally planned and initiated by Spenborough District Council prior to becoming part of Kirklees Council.
• Originally planned to be built by Spenborough Swimming Pool until KMC agreed to fund 50% if built at Whitcliffe Mount as part of the new school development, and hence it became a Dual Use Site.
• Opened in 1974
• Two extra squash courts built in 1978
• Fitness Suite added in 2008
