Swimming Lessons

KAL Swim Academy
KAL has now launched its new Swim Academy across all its pools.
- The new KAL Swim Academy based on the Amateur Swimming Association scheme. The ASA’s National Plan for Teaching Swimming is provides stages for children to progress and become confident, competent and safe in the water.
- For parents, the main difference is the rolling programme with gives the option of playing by monthly direct debit.
- Your child can move up into the next class once they are ready, rather than wait until the end of the set of twelve lessons. And there is less pressure on the child to reach goals within a specified timescale.
- Children are now taught through the use of games and fun, which enhances learning, particularly for younger children.
- There are no more enrolment days. Any new pupils do not have to wait until the next set of lessons, but just begin as soon as a place becomes available in the appropriate class.
Ducklings 3+ has replaced water confidence classes and the former beginners to grade 5 classes are now called Stages 1 to 7. Stages 8 to 10 include medals, Rookies and synchro.
Read the new KAL Swim Academy leaflet here to find out which stage to enrol your child in.

Free Junior Membership offer for DD Swim Pupils!
If you sign up to the Swim Academy Direct Debit scheme by the end of 2011, your child can enjoy a FREE KAL card and FREE junior membership.
The junior membership crucially includes swimming during public swim times, which is so important for any child learning to swim. This is for them to be able to practise what they have learned and is a fantastic perk during the school holidays.
