Warmer Water sessions are held in the warmer small pool and are designed to encourage the benefits of water movements in a warmer environment.  

(Only available at certain centres, please ask at reception for further details) 

 

General Sessions

Public Swims are open to the general public

Length Swims are structured sessions which offer a controlled lane environment.

Adult Exercise

  • aquafit stadiumAqua Fit is a water based workout, these sessions are suitable for all levels 
  • Aqua Med this workout is ideal for rehabilitation and a re-introduction to exercise. 
  • Aqua Deep is a water based workout in deep water
  • Aqua Natal is a water based workout for pregnant ladies and new mums (both natal and post-natal)

 

Members' sessions are pool areas provided for ‘MORE’ members only. 

 

Ladies

Ladies sessions include Sitara (only at Batley Baths and Dewsbury Sports Centre where no male staff members are present) and Mainly Ladies, both offer a welcoming atmosphere, aimed at female swimmers only.  

Mainly Ladies swimming sessions form part of most leisure centre swimming pool programmes. Some of these are now staffed by female lifeguards, making them accessible to all women.

Pregnant Ladies and New Mums

Many pools run aqua natal and aqua med sessions which are suitable for pregnant ladies and new mums. For more information, download the timetable here, which is due to begin in April 2010. Many of these sessions are already running, so please check with your nearest pool.

Clubs Swims

Our club swim sessions are pre-booked training sessions for our local Swimming Clubs.  
 
 

Notes

  • Please note that pool change-overs are included within the timetable at the beginning of each session. This usually takes a few minutes but on occasions could be longer.
  • All swimmers are politely asked to wear a swimming cap while using the pool.
  • Customers must abide by the terms and conditions which are available at your local centre. 
  • Our programme has been designed to provide opportunities for the community to access a variety of sessions, after each session all swimmers must exit the pool area before the next session commences. 
  • For further information about any of our sessions please ask at the reception or call the centre. 
  • Please note that some of our sessions are courses and must be pre-booked.
