History

Opened by the Miner's Welfare in 1928 and at the heart of the Scissett and Clayton West communities ever since. Having undergone a number of refurbishments and modernisations over the years, it has been transformed into its current layout.

Aqua-Zumba proved a huge hit at Scissett Baths & Fitness Centre! We're sorry we can't fit everyone in - if you don't manage to get a space make sure you get your name down on the waiting list. If have a space and cannot make it, please let us know so we can give your space to someone else.

Meet The Manager

Natalie Bates - Operations Manager

I have worked within Kirklees Active Leisure at various sites over the last 10 years. I started out as a Gymnastics Instructor at Dewsbury Sports Centre after doing the sport for a hobby as a child. I worked as a Leisure Attendant and then a Fitness Instructor as well as teaching fitness classes. I've worked at number of sites since then.

I became a Duty Manager at Batley Baths before moving to Huddersfield Sports Centre. I took over as Operations Manager at Scissett Baths & Fitness Centre in May 2010 and I'm really enjoying the challenge!

My hobbies including teaching aerobics and outside of work I enjoy holidays in the sunshine and shopping.
