It's a Caribbean Summer at the Stadium

Join the Fun in the Sun at the Stadium Pool

It’s going Caribbean Crazy at the Stadium Pool and Fitness Complex.

Staff organised a Caribbean Summer Fayre for Wednesday 3rd August with all kinds of activities for youngsters, most of which will run throughout the summer. More than 100 people came along to take part in the fun during the morning alone.

They set off 200 balloons, each with a free swimming voucher attached to it. Anyone who finds one once it lands can come into the centre and redeem it throughout the summer holidays.

Staff are dressing up in Caribbean costumes – including Pirates of the Caribbean! – and are offering a range of entertainment during the summer holidays. An area will be set aside for sandpit, paddling pools and colouring competition. Try your hand at the coconut shy and why not take advantage of the free swimming sessions?

sand pitJaime Nalson, centre manager, said: “We are excited about our brilliant programme of children’s activities during August, so want to shout about it with a special day.

“We all enjoyed the barbecue and ice cream van, which we hope will come back regularly throughout August and staff even had a go on the bouncy castle.

“Our new inflatable has to be seen to be believed – it’s like something out of television’s Total Wipeout, with moving parts, swinging balls and a slide. And watch out for the splat guns!”

After 3rd August, there will be free activities every day, including coconut shy, sandpits, paddling pools, bouncy castles and competitions with prizes.

In the swimming pool, there will be a new 15-metre long inflatable, the Commando Run, as well as the weird and wonderful Walk on Water Balls and splat guns. The centre will also be running disco swims.

For older children, why not try a Rookie Lifeguard course or junior boot camps? The Stadium Pool, alongside all other KAL pools, will be offering several hours of free swimming each week of the summer holidays.
