KAL fronting up for the Academy!
Kirklees Active Leisure has become the latest partner to renew its partnership with Huddersfield Town after it was announced that our logo would appear on the front of the Club’s Academy shirts for a second successive season.
KAL joined Town as the ‘Family Partner’ last year and we have hosted a number of family orientated days in co-operation with the Club.
Arguably the highlight of this year’s partnership was the ‘Fun day’ we hosted when Town played Leyton Orient earlier this year. In conjunction with Town’s Football in the Community coaches we hosted a number of pre and post match activities for all ages. Furthermore, every Town fan that attended the 2-2 draw against the O’s could swim for free at either Huddersfield Sports Centre or the Stadium Health & Fitness Complex.
As well hosting a number of family-based activities both on Town matchdays and in our sport centres throughout the region next season, KAL will continue to support the development of Town’s Academy.
Kirklees Active Leisure was also one of over 40 companies who donated money to enable 800 local school children to travel to Old Trafford and watch the League One Play-Off Final at the end of the 2010/11 season.

Huddersfield Town’s Chief Executive Nigel Clibbens commented:
“It is brilliant news that Kirklees Active Leisure has chosen to continue to support the Club’s Academy and to continue to be identified as the Club’s formal “Family Partner” – we are very proud to have them involved.
“Huddersfield Town is a community club and we are delighted that we are going to be able to continue spreading that ethos throughout KAL’s Leisure Centres.”
Kirklees Active Leisure’s Chief Executive Alasdair Brown:
“We are extremely pleased that we have been able to continue supporting Huddersfield Town’s Academy. The importance of developing sports amongst young people is very important and the work which Huddersfield Town and the Academy do within our local communities goes a long way in helping us deliver our Vision of ‘more people, more active, more often’. A number of the Academy players have broken through into the first team, with hopefully others to follow in 2011/12.
“Being classed as the Club’s “Family Partner” is also important to KAL as the leisure centre’s we manage cater for the whole family, while attracting families to attend Town matches is also a priority for Town, so it’s an obvious link.
“Town came very close to promotion and we’re keen to be part of the push for the new campaign when, we’re confident, Town will go that one step further”
