Are you up to the KAL Challenge?
Kirklees Active Leisure (KAL) is challenging YOU to get fitter before the 2012 Games.
The KAL Challenge – a project recognised under the London 2012 Inspire programme – is now up and running in your local KAL centre. The challenge is FREE and the aim is to run, row, swim and cycle 2012 metres and complete either 2012 metres on a cross-trainer or 2012 steps on a stepper.
How you take part in the challenge is up to you, but your official time is the sum of all the separate disciplines combined, which will be checked by a KAL staff member.
The idea is that you try to beat your own time over the following months to demonstrate your improved fitness.
Although the KAL Challenge is open to everybody, KAL centre rules and admissions policies apply – therefore, children under the age of 16 will not be allowed to work out in our fitness suites.
This is a personal challenge, but the best scores will be recorded and also the biggest improvers noted. Anyone taking part will receive a log book to record their scores and monitor training and progress.
If you fancy taking part in the KAL Challenge then pop down to your local KAL Sports Centre and ask a member of staff.
The London 2012 Inspire programme awards fresh, vibrant and truly exceptional non-commercial projects and events inspired by the 2012 games. The Challenge is a joint partnership between Kirklees Council and KAL. Kirklees NHS is also launching the KAL Challenge with its staff, helping us in our drive to get more people more active.
