Site managers
Alex Mellor – General Manager
In 1994, I was a casual lifeguard at Cambridge Road Baths where I also played waterpolo for the Huddersfield Otters. After completing a degree at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2001, I took up a lifeguard position with Total Fitness, Huddersfield.
During my seven years at Total Fitness I progressed to the role of Premier Manager. In 2008 I took up the Operations Manager role at The Stadium Health & Fitness Complex within Kirklees Active Leisure. Promotion to General Manager at Dewsbury Sports Centre came in October 2009.
Allan Woodhouse – Operations Manager
I have worked in the leisure industry since March 1997, when I began at Scissett Baths as a casual lifeguard. By September 2002 I gained a full-time Duty Manager position between Holmfirth Pool and Colne Valley Leisure Centre.
From February 2005 to November 2007 I worked as a Duty Manager at Huddersfield Sports Centre, Kirklees Active Leisure’s largest site. I line managed the leisure attendant team. I became Operations Manager at Dewsbury Sports Centre in January 2008.

Dewsbury Sports Centre is five minute's walk from Dewsbury Bus Station and ten minute's walk from Dewsbury Railway Station, click here for directions. Click Metro for bus and train times.
There are ample car parks adjacent to Dewsbury Sports Centre with free parking at the following times:
- Monday - Saturday before 8am and after 6pm
- Sundays - All day
- Bank Holidays - All day
At all other times pay and display is applicable.
Dewsbury's Satellite Sites
